news Washout Replays 01-12-08 at 8:47
Mon 01-Dec-2008 8:47
This is a reminder to clubs that replays of washed out games should be played within one month.

Having said that the replays of some of the games washed out on 15th and 29th November will be extended to 7th February.

This extention excludes competitions which have provision for a 'wet weather' replay weekend on 20 December. Subject to ground availability.

If clubs do not want to play so close to Christmas they may replay the washed out games as a midweek prior to 20th December.

Before Saturday the games that would have been scheduled for 20th December were-

Cashmore South .
Castle Hill v Oakville  and now   Baulkham Hills v Schofields

Street South ........ Winston Hills v Kellyville

Bergan ................   Kellyville v Schofields

Vigenser.................Castle Hill v Winston Hills ( drawn as a midweek).

Those four Leagues are the only ones with the provision of a 'wet weather weekend'  (20th December) in the draw.

The pitching restrictions will apply to replays as they do to normal games... There are to be no exceptions as the restrictions are based on player protection rules.

Our biggest problem will be in Youth League where all clubs other than Baulkham Hills are now at least two games behind.

news Just can't get enough baseball?
Tue 25-Nov-2008 21:13
Then maybe the Hills January Holiday Competition is for you!

Are you born between 1 May,1996 and 30 April,1999  (aged 10-12) and just want to play 'ball as much as possible?

Even if you're not a current player then Hills is the place to be in January.

The competition will be played on two afternoon during the week and Saturdays mornings during the January 2009 School Holidays with midweek games commencing at 6.15 pm. All midweek games will be at the same venue and at the same time.

There will be no training. There may be a grading session in December to assist allocation of players so that teams will be evenly graded to ensure as equal a competition as possible.

Cost will be $15 per player - each player will receive a shirt and cap. Hills will supply the necessary equipment.

The Little League Representative Teams will be restricted to players aged 11 and 12 years of age.

In addition to the Little League competition Hills will be offering a number of  three day camps during January. Two of these camps will specialise on hitting with a Professional USA Player as the Instructor. Cost $50 per camp.

Initial enquiries to John Yard at secretary@hillsbaseball.org.au
