Substitutes - what would YOU do? |
| Thu 21-Aug-2008 6:57am |
Martin Betts of the Tasmanian Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association continues to find fascinating stories from the world of cricket. In this case there was confusion in a match in England over the use of substitutes. How would you have ruled? (And how would you feel if your appointments officer turned up and over-ruled your on field decision?)

City 2 Surf - how did you go? |
| Mon 11-Aug-2008 7:01am |

Your webmaster, far right, BEFORE the walk |
Well, another City 2 Surf fun run is over. (How can they call it a "fun" run when I feel like I do this morning??) I finished in what will be a record time for me - thanks more to the more efficient timing method introduced this year than any great effort on my part. Our USA-born member, Bob Zehner is the first to check in. His 109.28 mins leaves my 156 mins for dead - but it is the 27th time Bob has completed the event. Wow! Murray Verran struggled to the end under an injury cloud but still managed a time of 82 minutes. Anyone else want to let the members know how you did??
