New South Wales Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association

Welcome to the home page of the New South Wales Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association
Nos praeimus, sequuntur ceteri
We lead, others follow
We would like to welcome all members and interested non-members to this site. We hope that you will find lots of information that is interesting and/or helpful to you.
The season is now over. Congratulations to those of you who were appointed to umpire or score major end-of-season matches. Hopefully you all acquitted yourself at the high standards you have achieved all season. We also congratulate the premiers in the various grades and competitions. We also take the opportunity to thank captains who have assisted us in monitoring the performances of our members by completing captains' reports and providing vital feedback.
Our Education and Development Manager reports that as of the first week of May we are only 20 weeks away from the start of 2008-09 season. What are your goals for next season? What do you need to start doing NOW to make those goals a reality? What can your Association do to assist?
Those of you in Sydney grade cricket will have received your final Captains' Marks. What do the numbers say to you? How can you use this report as a tool to assist in improving your performance into next season? Talk to your mentor. Challenge yourself to achieve your perfomance goals - and then exceed them.
As our Annual General Meeting approaches we ask members to consider nominating themselves or someone they respect for the various vacant positions. Interest in standing for such roles is a sign of the Association's strength. How can YOU contribute?
We hope that this page provides an insight into our association and keeps you up-to-date with happenings in Sydney and Country umpiring and scoring, as well as items of interest from around the world. Check in regularly. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

They will need lots of support from members over the next five years to compile a strong history of the Association. |

Darren Goodger appointed as Education and Development Manager |
| Thu 08-May-2008 10:21pm |

Education and Development Manager, Darren Goodger |
Those who were in attendance at the May General Meeting heard that Darren Goodger had agreed in principle to take on a role as NSWCUSA Education and Development Manager, replacing David Townsend who has been promoted within Cricket NSW. Once again we acknowledge David's work in his time in the role and sincerely wish him well as Cricket NSW Media and Communications Manager. I can now announce that Darren has signed a contract today and has officially commenced in dual roles, as our E&D Manager (employed by Cricket NSW) and as Cricket Australia's Senior Umpire Educator reporting to the Global Development Department. Cricket NSW and Cricket Australia have made an astute choice. We welcome Darren's continuing contribution to umpiring in NSW, Australia and throughout Asia. Congratulations on your appointment. Our Association remains grateful for the financial support of Cricket NSW and for their continued interest in assisting the development of cricket umpiring in this state. |

We welcome new members from overseas |
| Thu 08-May-2008 4:30pm |
At last night's general meeting we welcomed five new ordinary members and one scorer member to our Association. Four of the six new members were from Hong Kong, Kuwait and Bangkok, participants from the course conducted by Darren Goodger and Nick Fowler in Malaysia recently.
We welcome all these members, but in particular the newest additions to our expanding overseas membership base.
We hope you enjoy your time as members of the best active umpires association in the world (this is the purely biased opinion of the webmaster) :-) |
