Actively Seeking Umpires!

The Sydney Women's Cricket Umpires' Association (SWCUA) is looking to recruit Umpires ahead of the 2008/2009 season.

The Association is the exclusive provider of Umpires to the Sydney Cricket Association Women's Competition, which incorporates First to Third Grade open age competitions, as well as the U17 Brewer Shield. The Women's Grade Competition is the premier competition within NSW and features members of the NSW Breakers and Australian Southern Stars.

The competition runs from early October to late March/early April. All Grade matches are one-day limited overs fixtures, and are played:

First and Second Grade (50 overs per innings) - Sundays from 11:00am to 5:30pm
Third Grade (40 overs per innings) - Saturdays from 12:30pm to 5:45pm
Brewer Shield (40 overs per innings) - Sundays from 12:30pm to 5:45pm

For further information on the SCA Women's Competition please click here.

The ranks of the SWCUA are all members of the NSW Cricket Umpires' and Scorers Association. Training and mentoring is available for anyone wishing to become a qualified Umpire, with a view towards officiating in SCA Women's Competition matches. Details of upcoming training courses can be found by clicking here.

For details of umpiring matters within the Sydney Women's Grade competition contact Kevin McFarlane on 0418 297 704.
