WHAT'S THE ACADEMY?
The Atletico Futebol Academy is a 6-a-side Football Academy that develops the skills of our Futsal and Football players. The artificial grass field is of appoximatly 20m by 35 meters in size, and we use soccer balls size 4 and we utilise bigger goals (2.20m by 4.5 meters). The rules are of the normal soccer rules, with the exception of not having off -sides and the Gk can only throw the ball and cannot drop kick or kick the ball from a goal clearance situation.
We only use qualified Brazilian coaches that are familiar to the 6-a-side game. As mentioned the goals are of a different size too (players will learn to frame the goal better when taking shots...) which again is part of the process of the transition from Futsal to the Football 11-a-side.
We are the only Academy with the rights to use the name of Atletico Mineiro, who is a SERIE A Football club in Brazil. This connection will offer us the opportunity to utilise their coaching programs throughout the year, and their facilities in Brazil when we go to visit. Some of our players can even request to go to Brazil (depending on performance during the year) for a period of trainings with them, which again is only possible for players enroled in our Academy.
The academy will run for 37 weeks following the school terms. Trainings will be on Saturday afternoons no earlier than 4 pm. Training duration is of 1.5hours and involves: ball mastering, passing, shooting, dribbling, and Fitness. Tactical games also included such as; 1vs1, 2vs 2, small sided games, etc... Trainings will normally finish with a full game.
Test Matches will be played through out the year against other Academies and Football/Futsal Clubs
Two different Age Groups are Cattered for: 12's to 14's and 15's to 17's.

Costs: $15 a session, plus the training gear of $70. Once a week training of 1.5 hours, for 37 weeks following the school terms. (you only pay for the remaining sessions in the year, see calendar)
