ST ANDREWS WIN IT WITH LATE BURST:
St Andrews Lutheran College won the 16 Boys division of the Vikings Coomera River Schools Cup this evening in a competition which went down to the wire. Due to the excellent performances of all teams competing the competition winner was not decided until the last 5 minutes of the last game when St Andrews broke a 3-3 deadlock with Assisi College with a late 2 goal burst. Both Robina and UCSC also recorded impressive wins with only 1 competition point separating 2nd from 4th on the final table. Congratulations to all of the boys and coaches who competed on the night.

SEASON LAUNCH (FEBRUARY 1, 2009):
Futsal Schools on Queensland’s Gold Coast are gearing up for a feast of Futsal in 2009 with 12 school competitions confirmed for the 2009 Vikings Coomera River Cup series. Entries have closed and the generic draw agreed upon with the first tournament starting in Week 1 of Term 2. The competition has now extended its breadth beyond the Coomera River to include ACGS and St Stephens (Brisbane), Shailer Park and St Bernadines (Logan City), Rivermount (Yatala), Assisi College and UCSC (Upper Coomera), Benowa SHS and Robina SHS (Gold Coast) and St Andrews (Tallebudgera).
All Secondary School competitions in 2009 will be held at UCSC, Reserve Road, Upper Coomera on Thursday afternoons from 3.30pm until 6.00pm while the inaugural Primary event will be held at the Vikings Centre at Acacia Ridge from 12pm until 5pm.

WHO ARE THE COOMERA RIVER VIKINGS SCHOOLS?
The Coomera River Futsal Schools are a group of schools straddling the Coomera River on Queensland's Gold Coast who meet to play afternoon and weekend school Futsal competitions under the Queensland Vikings Banner.
