Former Sunshine Coast Futsal
Development Officer, Felipe Amorim has upped camp & moved down
the Freeway, where he has been handed the development reigns of
Vikings' Futsal, Gold Coast operations.
The Brazilian born 28 year old, brings
with him a massive depth of Futsal experience, bred into him back in
the Futsal homeland. Among other achievements, Amorim performed the
player/coach roles for the Corinthians & Forca Clubs, before
heading to Australia.
Building on the back of this experience
Felipe additionally applied himself to complete a Degree in Exercise
Science, majoring in Futsal & Football.
Victoria is where the Brazilian
commenced his Aussie development as coach of the State under 15's
side in 2002. This was combined with personally representing the
senior Men's State side in the same year and he backed that up in
2003.
From a coaching perspective
Queensland's State Women's side was under the guidance of Amorim in
2006, which helped lead to an assistant coaches role back in Brazil
with Juventos Futsal Club the following year. More recently he
resumed the player/coach roles for the Men's Northern NSW side at the
2009 National Titles and the Sunshine Coast Regional side.
Filepe's appointment has arrived via a
successful stint in a similar role on the Sunshine Coast. In just
over 12 months, he managed over 100 players and he compiled 6, 2009
Regional Teams, 4 of which reached semi-finals, 1 Runners Up side &
his under 12's side grabbed the Premiers Title. Amidst this success,
a Dalponte Futsal Academy was also established in near by Nambour.
With Amorim's leadership, Vikings are hoping to grow Futsal
throughout the fastest growing region in Queensland. They are aiming
for 75 Club teams, 2 Dalponte Academies, 10 representative teams for
Regional Titles and at least 1 Senior Rep side for the 2010 Vikings
National Titles. Early signs are good with a Winter Competition up
